Creamy potato soup

The smell of potato soup reminds us of childhood and our grandmothers’ kitchens. This hearty soup with bacon will warm up and satisfy everyone.

30 minutes


  • 3–4 medium-sized potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • Splash of olive oil
  • 1 l vegetable stock or water
  • 180 ml cooking cream
  • Parsley
  • Salt, pepper
  • 1 tsp (sweet) paprika
  • 50 g Belje Baranja bacon


  1. Peel and dice the potatoes. Set them aside.
  2. Sauté the minced onion in a heavy-bottom pot using a splash of olive oil until soft.
  3. Add the potatoes, paprika, salt and pepper. Sauté for a few minutes, then add the stock or water. Cook until the potatoes are soft.
  4. Blend the soup using a stick blender. Add more seasoning if necessary.
  5. Stir in the cooking cream and cook the soup for another 2 minutes.
  6. Fry the bacon in a pan. Sprinkle it on top of the served soup together with chopped parsley.
